The New 52: Batman The Dark Knight Issue 5 Review

The highly anticipated showdown between the Scarecrow and Batman, revealed at the end of the previous issue, is finally here! Will the Dark Knight succumb to the Scarecrow's toxins' effects? Batman The Dark Knight issue number 5 will not disappoint you!

Trailing him to this lair, Scarecrow unleashes his fear gas upon the Dark Knight as the battle begins. Fighting the effects as much as he can, Batman tries to remain calm despite the Scarecrow's mind games. We should remind readers that the Dark Knight's suit was damaged in the previous issue in case you're wondering why he isn't putting up much of a resistance, using his weapons, against the Scarecrow. Despite his lanky frame, the Scarecrow briefly subdues Batman, with enough time to inject him with the adrenaline drug.

After the Dark Knight wakes up, the Scarecrow has vanished. Someone else has arrived on the scene to render aid. What they don't know, is that Batman has been drugged and fight between both ensues! This issue has a special guest star which we won't reveal here! Furthermore, is the Scarecrow the ringleader between the adrenaline-crazed rampage among the super villain community? We don't think so as it's highly unlikely he dabbles with using that particular type of drug. The mystery continues!

Batman The Dark Knight issue number 5 is another great story from Paul Jenkins and David Finch. Jenkins crafts another tale with twists and turns, especially this issue's guest star! Once again, Finch just blows us away with his artwork!

The Good: Amazing story with a surprise near the end!

The Bad: Very scary hallucinations from Batman!

Final Verdict: A
