Wonder Woman No. 2 Review

Wonder Woman and Zola travel to Paradise Island to nurse the injured Hermes. Unbeknownst to them, other Gods are watching their every move. Also, Wonder Woman's origin is finally revealed or is it?

Star Wars: The Old Republic Pre-Order

We get our first glimpse of the rest of the Amazons and their home of Paradise Island in issue 2. Hermes who was severely injured in issue 1, has discussion with Zola, questioning how Zeus got her pregnant. He also reveals the origin of Diana which is similar to her post-Crisis on Infinite Earths origin. There's no rest for our heroes as the goddess Strife descends upon Paradise Island, creating havoc and death among the Amazons. While confronting Strife, Wonder Woman discovers shocking news about herself, as the Goddess Hera watches from afar.

Overall issue 2 was a great breather from the fast and explosive debut of Wonder Woman in issue 1. We get more clues as to why Zola was attacked as well, as she is pregnant with Zeus' child. There are other revelations in this issue but I won't spoil it for you. DC Comics has already revealed some details. Suffice to say, the last few panels at the end, will shock you.

We didn't see any other developing subplots so it's safe to assume that this current storyline could continue as the main focus of the initial issues. Another stunning issue from writer Brian Azzarello and artist Cliff Chiang.

The Good: Everything!

The Bad: No other subplots or developing stories for the future.

Final Verdict: A
