Review: Uncanny X-Men Issue 9

New S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Dazzler gets caught between the organization and Cyclops' team, when she comes for Fabio Medina. Will things end smoothly for everyone when Scott Summers tries to get Fabio back?

Enter Alison Blaire, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s wildcard in the saga against Cyclops as she is sent to bring in unwilling Fabio Medina, for interrogation. Writer Brian Michael Bendis does a superb job providing some relief from the recent Dormammu saga with Blaire's appearance here in issue 9.  Bendis' tale will certainly give readers enough empathy for poor Fabio. The dialogue is truly the highlight of this story as Bendis adds some humorous touches in almost every scene throughout the issue.  The scenes with Dazzler and Cyclops as they banter on are truly magnificent. At one point it almost feels natural that she would join Summers' team.  The pop culture references are also a nice touch here as Bendis is able to engage his audience with these subtleties.
Never point weapons at Dazzler!
Artist Chris Bachalo does his usual superb artwork bringing Bendis' script to full bloom. The character expressions are remarkably done and convey emotions as the scene dictates.  Bachalo's splendid pages come alive with spectacular layout designs that were just meant to...dazzle! Another cliffhanger ending from Bendis and Bachalo caps off the splendid issue!

Final Verdict: A
