Transformers: Megatron

Few leaders are as ruthless and cunning as Megatron. Meet the greatest Decepticon ever.

Megatron was the embodiment of ruthlessness and villainy, which is why he was the perfect leader for the Decepticons. Despite numerous defeats and small victories against the AutoBots, Megatron continually waged war on his sworn enemies.  With the help of his Decepticons, they were a constant threat to Optimus Prime and Earth's civilian population due to their quest for control and to strip Earth of it's resources. Tired of their life stuck on Earth, Megatron's ultimate goal was to use those same resources to return to their home planet of Cybetron and conquer it.

After copying the AutoBots method of transformation, his Earth disguise was that of a handgun, perhaps the ultimate tribute to his persona. The Decepticons stood by him throughout the wars with the AutoBots, as he lead with fear and a brutal might. He was never shy to blast his own troops just to keep them in line. Although fellow Decepticon StarScream was a constant pain in his side, nagging and egging him at times, Megatron maintained the leadership throughout.  They stood by him no matter how many times they lost or how ridiculous his scheme was.

At some point, both Optimus Prime and Megatron paid the ultimate cost of their neverending battles. Prime lost his life in a subsequent showdown with Megatron. In turn, Megatron was severely injured as a result. StarScream finally took leadership of the Decepticons at this time. Dumped as excess cargo during a return trip to Cybertron, his lifeless form as well other injured Decepticons was left wandering in space. He was forced to make a bargain with the omnipotent being Unicron, who discovered his body, and given a new chance at life again. Rebuilt as Galvatron, he took on a whole new form but with the same rage and maniacal intentions of universal domination. He slew StarScream and again fought wars against the AutoBots and their new leader Rodimus Prime. He was ultimately defeated and sent to the farthest regions of the galaxy, vowing vengeance.
