Facebook Messenger

Facebook has launched it's new Facebook Messenger app for mobile devices. Will it end the use of text messaging? Why is another app for messaging even necessary? Check out the screenshots.

Facebook's new Messenger app allows you to directly message your friends. It's simple and separate app. You can add photos as attachments. Will this new service slow down the use of text messaging since most of your friends are on Facebook anyway? Is this a calculated move against the new Google+ social network?

If you're a Facebook user, you may not need another app. However, if you don't like loading the Facebook app and simply want to message someone, then this app is recommended for you. Moreover, you might ponder why you need a costly text plan after using this new app from Facebook. Download the app below:

  1. My only dislike is that I cannot turn off the notification chime when i get messages. My phone lives in silent mode.except when this notifies meDroidx

  2. Check your App settings. On the iPhone, it's a simple slide of the switch to turn off sounds.
