Following up from the events from last issue, we find our hero dealing with a blackout from an electromagnetic pulse that has affected the entire city and even an airliner filled with passengers. Nothing is working and chaos reigns within the city and even Iron Heights Prison, where Iris West is. Flash does his best to calm things down and help restore order - as fast as he can! On top of that, the bad guys from Mob Rule are only going to make things even worse!
The Flash issue number three continues the current Mob Rule storyline and further reveals a few more details about Barry Allen's friend Manuel Lago. We discover that Lago is not all what he seems, as he has the ability to regenerate his body from any injury. Meanwhile, Flash and the police force do their best to keep Central City calm and safe during the blackout. Teams are formed within the force and fan out to control the chaos, as it not just this city but others like nearby Keystone City is also affected.
However, not everyone is hampered by the lack of power and mobility affecting vehicles, as Dr. Elias makes his way to the desert, using a steam-power car! He is on his way to the location of the EMP blast. What he discovers though, takes him on another adventure that he can't control, as he crosses paths with Mob Rule and is kidnapped by them! I won't spoil this issue's ending but leave you with this - Barry Allen and Patty Spivot are able to rescue Lago from the clutches of Mob Rule but the ending will shock you!
The Good: A great read with good twists, turns and one very climactic cliffhanger. Francis Manupul's opening artwork will stun you.
The Bad: I didn't pick up Captain Atom issue no. 3 which is probably tied to this storyline. You may have to read that in order to understand some of the developments in this issue. An unfortunate surprise for Dr. Elias. Let's hope he doesn't end up like the previous doctor who was captured by Mob Rule.
Final Verdict: A
