The New 52: Batman The Dark Knight Issue No. 4 Review

Writer Paul Jenkins and artist David Finch have crafted another mystery with Batman The Dark Knight issue no. 4. The story continues the pulse pounding tale of the Dark Knight trying to discover who's been injecting assorted inmates from Arkham Asylum, giving them superhuman strength and creating destruction as a result. Jenkins and Finch don't let action drop one bit in issue no. 4 either!

In Batman The Dark Knight issue no. 4, the trail leads Batman to Poison Ivy's lair, which looks a battle has occurred, given the destroyed and damaged interiors. Left alone to figure things out, since the Flash was infected, Batman sends a plea to fellow Justice League members for help but unfortunately, they're busy fighting the same escaped criminals from Gotham. Issue no. 4 is loaded with guest appearances and we won't reveal them here but we're certain you'll be surprised and enjoy them too. Additionally, Batman appears to have discovered the mystery of the toxin trail, or has he?

What's going on at Poison Ivy's place?
Up all night with Alfred and ice-cream?
What is the White Rabbit up to now?
Overall, Jenkins and Fincher deliver another superb tale. Is the White Rabbit simply a pawn or an accomplice? We expected her to have a bigger role but it seems she may not be the actual ringleader behind all this. Furthermore, the big reveal at the end may not be the mastermind as well.

The Good: Great story and superb art

The Bad: another month of waiting for the next issue!

Final Verdict: A
