DC Comics App

While DC Comics has started relaunching and renumbering all their comics back to number one, I've noticed lately that a lot of the older DC comics are now available in their app for the iPad. If you've ever wanted to build your comic-book collection now is the time. However, there's a catch to some of the titles available.

DC Comics, like other publishers has an impressive digital comics app available for the iPad. The company has also launched a line known as "DC Retroactive" that provides readers with an old story and a new one, all in one issue. Additionally, DC Comics has swung the vault doors open and released a number of classic comic-books for their iPad app. You'll find a variety of titles such as the early Starman stories, the amazing Batman: Year Two featuring Todd McFarlane's early work for DC and host of others such as Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman and the Justice League. You won't find starting points such as first issues with a few of these titles and some are just random stories tying in to current comic-book events such as Flashpoint.  Some of these reissues are bargain priced for  $0.99 cents while others will run you $1.99.

I wish Marvel would be as open with their past issues. You can download the DC Comics iPad app below.
