Arkham City Lockdown Update for iPhone

The first update has been released for Batman: Arkham City Lockdown for iPhone and contains a few goodies. The 1.1 update features two free Batman skins (a 70s skin), the ability to continue your game on any other iOS device (iPad2 of course), bug fixes and other extras. Head on to the App Store and apply it.

NBA 2K12 Roster Update

UPDATE: Since this entry was written over a week before the start of the NBA season on Christmas, we expected a roster update after the holidays. Sadly, like the rest of you we're still waiting for the anticipated roster updates. Stay tuned, we may get one soon enough!

If you've ever had to deal with roster updates for some of your favorite sports video games then fret no more. The recent 1.2.8 update available for NBA2K12 for iPhone includes a new feature that checks automatically for roster updates. It launches at the onset of the main menu. This is a great asset for anyone who's ever had to keep track of not only their favorite team, but other NBA squads, in order to try to keep up with the latest player trades, team signings and current lineups. After all, guard Chris Paul may no longer be with the New Orleans Hornets at the start of this upcoming season! You are given the option to turn off the update if you'd rather do it manually. With the NBA season launching on Christmas Day this new feature from 2K Sports will provide gamers with the latest lineup updates for your team rosters.

Epic Games finally brings the Dark Knight's adventures to the iPhone and iPad. Is the game up to par with other iOS games like Infinity Blade, before it? Furthermore, can it match the hype and intensity of its console brethren?

If Epic Games' Infinity Blade set the bar for 3-D gaming on the iPhone then Batman Arkham city lockdown raises that bar once again. On the heels of the Arkham City release for gaming consoles, Epic Games and Warner Bros. interactive have unleashed Batman Arkham City Lockdown for iOS mobile gamers. If you've enjoyed Infinity Blade, then the gameplay shouldn't be any different. Powered by the same Unreal Engine, instead of lush environments as featured in Infinity Blade, we get the same dark and dreary tones established way back in Arkham Asylum and in Arkham City.  Your task once again, is that the Dark Knight has round up the escaped criminals from Arkham once again.  You'd think they'd built a better lock!

Like many iPhone enthusiasts, it’s a bittersweet time for us. Rumors of the new iPhone model launching soon gets us all tingly and giddy with excitement as well. An increased spec bump with the internal rear camera, up to 8 megapixels, then a processor upgrade and hardware changes similar to a mini-iPad have us anticipating the new look. Although I should reiterate that these are simple rumors and nothing has been substantiated yet.

iPhone Tips: Delete Files, Multitasking and More

The iPhone can be an easy device to use but the occasional issue will sometimes occur. Problems like apps being unresponsive can be quite a chore to deal with, especially if you’re on a call at the same time.  No matter how many times you begin to tap, the app just won’t respond and you’re forced to reboot your phone. Here are simple tips that will help your iPhone experience more enjoyable and less stressful:

1. Quit Unresponsive Apps

Locate the unresponsive app which is usually on the left 

Simply double click the home button to bring up the unresponsive app. Press the unresponsive app icon until the red minus symbol appears with it. Quit the unresponsive by pressing the minus sign.

2. Clear Space on your Device

Find the media file you want to delete

The great convenience of having iTunes installed is the ease of being able to download content straight from Apple’s service. Sometimes too much media whether it be movies or television shows can fill up your device.  If you’re using the 16 GB version, you can run out of space quickly. Fortunately, Apple provides an easy way to create space by removing media from your device. Of course this tip is based on the assumption that you’ve backed up your media and purchases already.

Open up the iPod app and locate the videos section. Swipe on a particular media file but we suggest deleting movies since they can take up to 2 GB of space (HD movies may consume more space). Tap the delete button and the file is removed from your device.

3. Location Services

Prevent unwanted tracking by your apps by turning off Location Services for those particular ones.  While it's necessary to have certain apps know your location like Google Maps and Yelp!, go to the Settings icon and then Location Services. Choose which apps you don't want tracking you.

4. Multitasking

You don't have to quit the current App you're using just to use another app. You can quickly switch to a different app by pressing the Home button on a main screen. Swipe the icons to find the app that you want. 

These tips should work on any iPhone, iPod and iPad running the most current iOS for that device. It is advised that you backup your device first before performing these suggestions.
